Shivani's art gallery

I was glad to visit Shivani Virani's art gallery - Artistree . It is conveniently located at 29, Hargun House, Annie Beasant Road,Worli , Mumbai . It is on the main artery from Nariman Point to Airport next to Podar hospital ,Worli . it has more informal atmosphere, lot of different kinds of art work , colour as well as ink on paper which gave the entire room a feel of art and not merely a kind of show rooms mushrooming all over the city. with once glance i could make out that she had taken care of small minute details before putting up paintings on wall. she was sitting in her ante-room with her laptop . i had instantly liked the painting exhibition she had organised at Kitbmahal and that was the beginning of our interaction. After interacting with her , I thought here is some one who can understand and take care of my work .

she maintains a website - http://www.artistree.biz/ which is worth visiting. Apart from pages for her artists , she also have a page for children who can paint and upload their work, can sell their work . Fifty percent of proceeds goes to a the child artist and remaining fifty per cent is donated to a charity fund run by Rahul Bose .
you can view my paintings available at Artistree  clicking on following link

Saraswati

Saraswati is one of my favourite painting which i did along with one i completed based on poet Kusumagraj's novel "Janhavi" , the central character in impressionist form. since i had my self visited the spots described in the novel in ranges of sahyadri, i could very well imagine the background. i presented the painting to Kusumagraj which he liked very much. he wanted to knew whether i had done it in water colour , when i told him that it was oil on canvas he was surprised as there was lot of transparency in use of colours.

on same trip to nasik from mulund , i transported "Saraswati" painting and kept it at my place in Igatpuri where it remained for many years.
I got it back when i held my first solo show at artists centre and some how it remained there not knowing how. One day i had gone to visit Madhusudan, himself a painter and a musician who plays sitar , i saw sanjay, boy working in the centre readjusting some paintings and located my own painting. Even after locating it, it took me almost three months to bring it back to my makeshift studio in Mulund. I was very happy to get the painting back .
